The Relentless Pursuit of the Elusive Caribbean Bonefish
MEET THE CAPTAIN:
Captain Darin is a native of the Turks & Caicos and has been fishing these waters, both in the flats and in the deep blue, since his youth. He is an accomplished boat Captain, Lobster & Conch diver, Deep sea and bottom fisherman but his true love is Turks and Caicos Islands Bonefishing.
THE BOAT:
For your Turks and Caicos Islands bonefishing experience, DB Tours bonefishing boat is the best choice. It's a modern 17' Action Craft with single 115hp Mercury outboard (you can tie your hat on), fully tricked out to include GPS, fish finder (not that we need it), poling platform, cushioned seats and all amenities you expect on a top notch flats/fly fishing boat.
HISTORY:
We are natives of an island where subsistence farming and fishing were the only sources of food for a very long time. The Turks and Caicos women cultivated the land reaping their crops and the fishermen hunted and netted the bonefish with gill nets by the hundreds in an effort to feed their families and the rest of the cure and solar dehydration.
Hashed bonefish, boiled potatoes or peas and grits were the order of the day in Turks and Caicos Islands.
As times changed diverse new industries developed, creating new jobs, and the focus was drawn away from the bonefish harvest. Today the Caicos Islands boast one of the largest bonefish populations in the Caribbean. However, now instead of wading the flats and smacking the water trying to scare large schools of bonefish into gill net traps, island fishermen zoom to the flats on state-of-the-art, custom built, fly fishing boats and taking along world class fly fishing and spin casting anglers seeking to hook one of our legendary bonefish.

REQUIREMENTS:
You need the desire to catch a bonefish. If you are strong enough to cast a light weight spinning rod then we will show you how to catch a bonefish. We can teach you how to use spinning rods as well as Fly rods and can almost guarantee you you will catch a bonefish on your first day of bone fishing instruction.
What to bring:
If you want to bring your own flyfishing rod, the Best Rod to bring is 8 and 9 weight. Other items you might bring along are wading boots, sunscreen, bonefishing flys and your camera.
SCHEDULE:
As most experienced Anglers know, Bonefish don't stay in the same place all the time and we change our fishing spots accordingly. Depending on where in the flats we are heading, the boat ride is anywhere between 15 minutes and 45 minutes.
Our earlier departure times puts you on the fish before the competition and by the time the others head out you are taking your first break from struggling with your first few bones of the day.
Where do we go?
South side, Pine Cay, North Caicos and Middle Caicos.
½ day departures 7:30 am to 11:30 pm and 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Full day departures 7:30 am to 3:00 pm or other by prior arrangement.
PRICES:
Half Day Bonefishing Charter: $650.00 plus 12% government tax, two anglers maximum.
Total cost $728.00 USD.
Full Day Bonefishing Charter: $1100.00 plus 12% government tax, two anglers maximum.
Total cost $1232.00 USD.
Prices include transportation to and from the boat if necessary, drinks and a light snack on half days, lunch and drinks on full days.
Other Costs:
Fly rods are available for rent at $50/day
Please note that all anglers over 16 years old are required by law to purchase a Turks & Caicos Islands visitors fishing license which is $32.00 per angler.
